Terms, Refund & Cancellation Policy.

The terms that govern book orders, payments, and service bookings — including how refunds and cancellations work.

Last updated: May 28, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and your purchase of any book or service from Yangeni Chendela, trading as Not Your Usual HR (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Lusaka, Zambia. By placing an order or booking a service, you agree to these Terms. Please read the Refund and Cancellation sections carefully.

1. Overview

This site offers (a) a growing catalogue of books and related titles for purchase, and (b) professional services including keynote speaking, corporate training, and HR consulting. These Terms apply to every title in our store, whatever the edition or format. Different terms apply to physical products and to services — where they differ, the relevant section says so. All prices are shown in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW) unless stated otherwise, and include applicable taxes where required by law.

2. Book orders & pricing

  • An order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only once we accept it and confirm payment. We may decline or cancel an order (for example, if an item is out of stock or mispriced), in which case any amount paid is refunded in full.
  • We take care to display accurate prices and stock. If a genuine pricing or description error is found after you order, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or receive a full refund.
  • Book images are for illustration. Cover finishes and editions may vary slightly.

3. Payments

Online payments are processed securely by DPO Pay (DPO Group). We do not store your full card details on our servers. Your order is confirmed once DPO authorises the payment and we receive confirmation. If a payment fails or is declined, no contract is formed and you may try again or contact us.

4. Delivery & collection

  • Collection (pickup): free, from our designated pickup point in Lusaka. We will notify you when your order is ready and how long it will be held.
  • Local delivery (Zambia): shipping fees are calculated at checkout and shown before you pay.
  • International delivery: available to selected countries at the international rate shown at checkout. You are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs charges levied by the destination country.
  • Delivery time-frames are estimates and not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or collection.

5. Refund policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. The following applies to books bought through this website.

5.1 Damaged, defective, or incorrect items

If your book arrives damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of receiving it with your order number and a photo of the issue. We will, at our discretion, replace the item or issue a full refund (including the original delivery cost). We may ask you to return the faulty item; if so, we cover the return cost.

5.2 Change-of-mind returns

If you simply change your mind, you may request a return within 7 days of receipt, provided the book is unused, undamaged, and in resalable condition. You arrange and pay for return shipping. Once we receive and inspect the book, we refund the purchase price (excluding the original and return delivery costs).

5.3 Non-delivery

If your order does not arrive within a reasonable time after the estimated delivery window, contact us. If we cannot locate or re-deliver it, you are entitled to a full refund.

5.4 Digital products

Where a product is supplied in digital form (e.g. an e-book), it is delivered immediately and is non-refundable once download or access has begun, except where the file is faulty or cannot be accessed and we are unable to resolve the problem.

5.5 How refunds are issued

Approved refunds are made to your original payment method via DPO Pay, normally within 5–10 business days of approval (or of us receiving the returned item). Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the funds. Shipping fees are non-refundable except where the item was faulty, incorrect, or undelivered.

6. Cancellation policy

6.1 Cancelling a book order

You may cancel an order at no charge before it has been dispatched or collected. Contact us as soon as possible with your order number — if it has not yet shipped, we cancel it and refund you in full. Once an order has been dispatched, it is treated as a return under the Refund policy above.

6.2 Orders cancelled by us

We may cancel an order if the item is unavailable, if payment is not completed, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these Terms. Where you have already paid, we refund you in full.

6.3 Abandoned or unpaid checkouts

If you start checkout but do not complete payment through DPO, no order is placed and you are not charged.

7. Speaking, training & consulting

Bookings for keynote speaking, corporate training, and consulting are arranged under a separate written agreement or proposal, which sets out the fees, scope, dates, and payment schedule. Where that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement prevails. In the absence of specific written terms, the following defaults apply:

  • A deposit may be required to confirm and hold a date.
  • Client cancellation more than 14 days before the engagement: the deposit may be refunded or transferred to a rescheduled date. Cancellation within 14 days: the deposit is non-refundable, as the date was reserved exclusively for you. Cancellation within 48 hours, or a no-show, may incur the full fee.
  • Rescheduling is offered where reasonably possible, subject to availability.
  • If we cancel an engagement, you receive a full refund of any amounts paid, or a mutually agreed rescheduled date.
  • Travel, accommodation, and venue costs agreed in advance are payable in addition to fees and may be non-refundable once committed to third parties.

8. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, book material, frameworks, course materials, logos, and images — is owned by or licensed to Yangeni Chendela and is protected by copyright. Books and training materials are sold for personal use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, or publicly perform the content without our written permission.

9. Liability

Our content, books, and services are provided for general professional and educational purposes and do not constitute legal, financial, or HR advice tailored to your specific circumstances. To the maximum extent permitted by Zambian law, our total liability arising from any order or engagement is limited to the amount you paid for that order or engagement. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, and the courts of Zambia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. We may update these Terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published on this page at the time of your order or booking.
